September 1st is a day designated to raise awareness of natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes and to reaffirm disaster prevention measures.
The basic idea of disaster prevention is to "prevent disasters before they happen, prevent damage from spreading when a disaster occurs, and work to recover from the disaster." To achieve this, it is very important to have accurate knowledge about disaster prevention and to be prepared on a daily basis.

This time, ahead of Disaster Prevention Day on September 1st, the participants visited Sona Area Tokyo and the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel to deepen their knowledge of various aspects of disaster prevention.

Sona Area Tokyo is a disaster prevention experience learning facility located within the Tokyo Waterfront Area Disaster Prevention Park in Koto Ward, Tokyo, where participants can learn the wisdom needed to survive the 72 hours following an earthquake disaster. In the event of a disaster, an Emergency Disaster Local Response Headquarters will be set up and the facility will also function as a national disaster prevention base. This time, participants participated in an experience learning tour that simulated a major earthquake directly beneath the capital, where they learned specific knowledge and actions to take during the 72 hours following a disaster.

The Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel is a flood control facility operated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, located in Kasukabe City, Saitama Prefecture. We participated in a tour of the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, a local flood control facility, and in addition to seeing the huge pressure-regulating tank known as an underground temple, we also toured the work passages, pump room, gas turbine section, and impeller section. We were amazed by the grandeur of the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, and were able to learn specifically about the role of the facility in the event of a flood and the flow of rainwater.

At these facilities, you can learn about disaster prevention through hands-on experience in an easy-to-understand way. Why not take Disaster Prevention Day as an opportunity to visit?

The Vertex Group will continue to work to raise employees' disaster prevention awareness and ensure the safety and security of the public.
